The idea for fotowarrior was born while founder Robert B. was driving on the Dan Ryan Expressway in Chicago. He witnessed people throwing trash out of car windows. Robert has been a businessman and friend to many individuals on the north side, Auburn Gresham and Roseland communities, for many years. He has been the minority, in a majority African American Community, he has witnessed a lot of unconventional acts in these neighborhoods, and has been profiled and searched for "just being in a retail parking lot."
Robert spent the next few years running scenarios through his head on ways to alleviate joblessness among middle aged men, bankrupt governments with pension problems, police perception issues, and the careless, reckless driving that occurs throughout the Chicagoland region.
Fotowarrior helps to solve these problems by offering a platform that welcomes citizen reporting of motor vehicle safety violations. It allows the ordinary citizen to stay anonymous, without fear of retribution. It allows the ordinary citizen the ability to earn a honest income, by being engaged in neighborhoods all across this great country of ours. It allows our police departments to concentrate on more serious crime. It allows governments a more efficient revenue source, which is funded by drivers who purposely disobey the rules of the road, while rewarding the citizen reporter.
We start with the basics, and since a vehicle is almost always used somehow in a crime, we focus on the license plate. Since the police monitor license plates, there is a good chance that the plate will be legitimate. With our ever growing list of fotowarriors, we can let the bullies know that someone, somewhere may be filming. With this knowledge, maybe the offenders will think twice about doing something that is considered anti society.
